The Martínez Bujandas have been making Rioja for over 100 years and remain one of the most innovative and influential families in the region. Like many Rioja producers, they also have vineyards in La Mancha, and have been experimenting with plantings of international stars like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. A late ripener, Malbec flourishes in the sunshine, its firm tannins softening to produce supple textured wines with rich damson flavours.Vinification in the Bujandas' state of the art winery has captured all the sunny flavours of the perfectly ripened grapes in this delicious modern red. Soft enough to enjoy as a warming glass on its own, it's tasty, too, with sausage casserole, leek and potato gratin or other hearty fare.
