El Bombero 2007
Your No.1 Spanish red - 'Best in Class' for the second year running - make room in your cellar!
Mighty El Bombero has been voted your No.1 more times than any other wine, and judges awarded it 'Best in Class' Trophy at the International Wine and Spirits Competition 2008 for the second year running! It's the winning combination of 15% power and velvety richness - usually associated with Châteauneuf-du-Pape or Australian Barossa Shiraz - that makes it so delicious ... especially at such a low price!
In the remote hills of Cariñena, shepherds have tended old vines since Roman times, a world away from the modern wine trade. No fancy châteaux here, just patience as long hours of sunshine and painfully low yields turn each Garnacha grape into a knot of deep, rich flavour. Deeper and richer than ever in 2007!
Vibrant ruby-purple in colour and billowing ripe blackcurrant aromas. Profound plum, cherry and succulent blackberry kept silky-smooth by the soft 15% alcohol. Serve with roast lamb or steaks - in large glasses please!

Tasting advice
El Bombero's luscious fruit character makes it tasty solo, or alongside the classic Aragonese dish ternasco calderetta (spicy grilled lamb), full-flavoured pasta dishes or sausages and mash.
