Pavillon de Lobre 2008

Pavillon de Lobre

Exuberant, minerally-fresh French speciality that's bursting with green apple and lime.

Thrillingly fresh Pavillon de Lobre is handcrafted by Claude Houbart - a local French hero whose wines win countless medals each year. It's from the pretty village where painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was born and was handcrafted from a characterful local grape, Loin de L'Oeil, meaning "far from the eye" or bud.

Somewhere between zesty Sauvignon and rich Chardonnay in style, Pavillon de Lobre is fantastic for entertaining ... and at unusually low price - thanks to an American deal falling through at the last minute.

Bright and zippy with exuberant citrus aromas and ripe lime, green apples and gooseberry flavours. Crisp yet weighty, it's ideal as an aperitif or as accompaniment to fish dishes.

A lovely balance between the zippy freshness of Sauvignon and the almost oily weight and smoothness of Loin de l'Oeil. Enjoy with creamy sauced chicken.
