Just one more time... The Irene Returns in Triumph!

At just after 13.30hrs on Wednesday 18 May, the Irene of Bridgwater sailed majestically beneath Tower Bridge, marking the end of her historic journey. Over the course of 11 days, the crew of the Irene braved high seas, broken rigging and cramped conditions on their voyage to London from Bordeaux.

And although this was our most ambitious voyage to date - you can watch footage from the other two here - the crew and cargo arrived in London in one piece. 1,666 hand-packed, wooden half cases of glorious Le Voyage du Chai au Quai 2009 were safely unloaded in London's Butler's Wharf.

And it's not too late to secure your share. For an exclusive taste of this magnificent limited edition, order online today.

Just one more time...

Tony Laithwaite

I've long been fascinated by Bordeaux's historic wine trade with Britain ... once the biggest trade route in the world. The Irene's voyage was our third attempt at third attempt to recreate this historic crossing. And it was so successful, I'm tempted to do it again ...

We did it! The Irene arrived safely in London with her very special cargo. I've been very close to this wine right from the vineyard ... and now Ive delivered it. Talk about going the extra (nautical) mile! Look back on my journey and see the highs and lows of the fantastic voyage.

Rough seas, high winds and broken rigging are nothing to the gallant crew of 'The Irene'. Watch the video diary of Mark's perilous journey from the quayside in Bordeaux, up the River Thames and under London's Tower Bridge.
