Sunday Bay is a classic Kiwi Sauvignon from Marlborough - top region for this grape - and a terrific, environmentally aware estate, that's well known and highly regarded at home and internationally. In fact one of its Sauvignons was awarded Best New Zealand Sauvignon at the International Wine Challenge 2012. We can't name them because Sunday Bay is a great value exclusive just for us. Picking grapes in the cool temperatures of the night captures maximum fruit and freshness, while a little ageing on lees (the natural residue of fermentation) adds to the flavours of this vibrant, gooseberry and tropical fruit scented white. Spicy seafood dishes are a favourite partner with this lively Sauvignon Blanc but it's also great with salmon quiche.
