Torres' small production wines are the jewels in their large portfolio. Some, such as La Plana, have competed against and beaten some of the finest wines in the world. La Plaza is an impressive, stylish blend of Garnacha and Syrah grown in Torres' own vineyards in remote Catalunya. At an altitude of 400 metres, the day and night temperature variation enhances the grapes' aromatic qualities. The Torres family have been associated with winemaking since the 17th century, a time when 'la plaza reale', or royal square, was at the heart of many European cities.La Plaza has sensual spice and ripe cherry aromas, echoed in the wine's rich, silky flavours. Best enjoyed with garlic and rosemary lamb, sausage and lentil casserole or roast red meats.
