The story of Domaine le Bosquet really begins in 110 BC, when the Romans made the most of its exceptional terroir to make wine. The current vineyard on its hallowed slopes is 30 years old, and produces distinctively pure fruit.Just to make sure he gets the juiciest and most concentrated grapes however, winemaker Richard Osborne insists on a 'green harvest' - pruning excess grapes before ripening to ensure that only the very best remain on the vines by the time of the vintage. This meticulous care and attention to detail shines through in the wine's deep colour, pronounced black fruit aromas and rich, spicy taste. This is southern French Syrah as it should be - perfect for grilled lamb chops or shish kebabs or a pork and prune casserole.
