Traditionally, Alsace winemakers have had the upper hand when it comes to fine Gewurztraminer. But Chile is showing enormous potential, particularly when the grapes are from premium cool climate Bio Bio. Gran Valle di Niebla has vibrant floral and spice fruit and when you understand how the grapes are grown, it's not surprising. Winemaker Adolfo Hurtado believes passionately in environmentally friendly methods in his vineyards, many of which are certified organic. Every worker is issued with a bike to get to work and around the vineyards, where free range geese are the preferred method of pest control.Pristine grapes make for pristine flavours. This Gewurztraminer is perfect solo or with spicy Asian cuisine or pork with apple sauce.
