Our full time Antipodean wine sleuth Dan Parrott devotes every working hour to seeking out wines like this with impeccable provenance at a great price. Tikohi comes from Phil and Chris Rose who back in 1978 were pioneers in planting vines in an area of Marlborough, close to the Wairau River, now known as the 'Golden Mile'. Even then they recognised the potential of its free draining stony soil. Hand tended in small batches from vine to bottle, this premium wine is the product of low yielding vines and ultra ripe fruit and is renowned for exhibiting intense fruit characteristics and classical elegance. With fresh, vibrant aromas of gooseberry and passionfruit, this is a wine to enjoy solo or with asparagus, king prawns or fish curry.
