Giles MacDonogh of FT Magazine notes "Many of Portugal's best wines come from the Alentejo", yet the region is still little-known in the UK. This is good news for us, as producers there are really keen for their wines to gain a wider international following, and we are able to secure the wines for you at a great-deal price. Indeed, winemaker Pedro Hipólito, who produced this white, selected his best vats to go into this exclusive blend. Albarrada was made at a small cellar, built 50 years ago but now furnished with the most up-to-date winemaking equipment. Crisp and citrusy with a delicate minerally hint, it makes a lovely apéritif. Try, too, with pasta with fresh tomato and basil or grilled white fish such as Dover sole or halibut.
