Gewürztraminer is one of the most instantly recognisable white grapes thanks to its wonderful floral aromas. Some of the finest come from Alsace in the northeast corner of France, where the cool climate and complex soils are particularly suited to aromatic varieties - Riesling and Muscat thrive here as well.Domaine Bott-Geyl dates back to 1795 and has 14 hectares of vines including four Grands Crus. Current owner Jean-Christophe Bott has been at the helm since 1933, and continues the tradition of excellence. He converted his vineyards to organic production in 2000, and went fully biodynamic in 2002. His rose petal and lychee scented Les Elements Gewürztraminer makes a delicious apéritif as well as a fine accompaniment to spiced foods.
