This wonderfully refreshing white combines Argentina's flagship white grape, Torrontés, with a splash of the international superstar variety Sauvignon Blanc. It's from Andean Vineyards, which have high tech cellars in Mendoza and San Juan as well as Salta - where the high altitude is spot on for bracing whites. Alma Andina was made by Australian Stephen McEwen, who has had considerable winemaking experience in France, Spain, Italy, Sicily, Hungary, Israel, Chile and Australia! He finally fell in love with Argentina, married a local girl, and has stayed there ever since. The delightful crispness and floral aromas of Alma Andina make it ideal to sip as an apéritif or with lighter dishes - prawns, salads, or a fennel risotto perhaps.
