Situated on a hillside in Périssac, close to Fronsac, Château La Rose Tour Blanche comprises 38 hectares of mature Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc vines. The Milhade family run their estate as if it were a cru classé, keeping yields to a minimum and employing all the traditional vinification techniques that make Bordeaux one of the world's benchmark red wines. With vibrant black cherry and wild berry aromas, this smooth, medium bodied claret shows all the balanced bramble fruit and fine tannins so typical of excellent 2009 - "the best vintage Bordeaux has ever produced" (Steven Spurrier, decanter.com). It's a pleasure to drink now with the Sunday roast, grilled lamb chops or casseroles, and will keep well for a few years yet.
